Thoughts On Nickel City Comic Con 2025 – Event Review

I attended the recent Nickel City Comic Con in Buffalo, NY, which ran from June 27th – 29th, 2025. What’s it all about?

Nickel City Comic Con is Buffalo’s ultimate three-day celebration of  comics, cosplay, and all things pop culture! Held annually at the Buffalo Convention Center in the heart of downtown Buffalo, the event spans over 100,000 square feet packed with excitement, creativity, and nonstop entertainment.”

Read on for my thoughts!

Let’s Get This Show On The Road

I got there at 9:00 am and was let into the door around 9:30 am.  The first thing I did was get my badge from the VIP/Media area and by the way shoutout to the amazing staff that got me my badge they did an amazing job. After getting my badge I looked  around the con to see which vendors, guests, amazing vehicles etc. were there.

Then I went to see if the  celebrity  guests I wanted to get were there already and they were not so I look around the Con again until they arrived. The first  celebrity guest I interacted with Karyn Parsons who played Hilary Banks in the show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. I got her autograph and she was nice to interact with. She also was in Major Payne as Emily Walburn.

The second celebrity guest I visited was Ari Lehman who played young Jason Voorhees in the first Friday The 13th. His handler was very nice and he got a photo with me and also I got his autograph. There was a long line of people for his line and I did wait a while but it was well worth it.  He also was in Clown Motel 2 and fronts a band called First Jason.

After that I walked around the Con again. I went to the collectibles booth and looked at autographs they had for sale and picked up a Dave Sheridan autograph. After that, I stopped at Guy Gilchrist’s booth who was a cartoonist for the Muppets among other Jim Henson Productions. I got an autograph for my friend who attended con and interacted with Guy. He is so nice. I then went to Wild Bill’s Craft Beverage Company and got some soda.

Time For Some Panels

After the meet and greets and some wondering around it was time for panels.

First I attended  a panel with Bill Diamond who is a legendary creator as well as Guy Gillchrist who was the cartoonist for the Muppets. It was very well attended and guests asked a lot of good questions.

Second I attended a panel with Mindy Sterling who is known for Austin Powers, Icarly, The Grinch, Phineas and Ferb, among others. I had a blast with Mindy and she was very grateful for her fans. She did her voice for us, which was amazing.

Third I attended a panel with Power Ranger Star’s Steve Cardenas and Karan Ashley. We were supposed to be in the Fresh Prince panel but I messed up the rooms but the panel was good overall. I learned that they never were on set with some of their co-stars.

You can watch some of the panels below.

Final Thoughts

Nickel City Comic Con has been doing this for at least 10 years. If you get a chance I’d recommend catching the next one!
