Shudder’s ‘Cursed Films’ Season 2 To Debut In April

Awesome news! Shudder’s Cursed Films Season 2 is in the bag and set to premiere next month. The series explored the real life horror of some of the most well known cursed genre films.

Synopsis:

Cursed Films is a five part documentary series which explores the myths and legends behind some of Hollywood’s notoriously cursed horror film productions.

The series explores the facts and legends around iconic films and franchises whose casts and crews have been struck by misfortune and tragedy. The first season examined The OmenPoltergeistThe ExorcistThe Crow and Twilight Zone: The Movie.

Creator Jay Cheel has announced the films being discussed for season 2:

  • The Wizard of Oz
  • Rosemary’s Baby
  • The Serpent and the Rainbow
  • Stalker
  • Cannibal Holocaust

Cursed Films Season 2 premieres on April 7, 2022!

Cursed Films features conversations and interviews with cast and crew who witnessed these tragedies firsthand as they still struggle with what happened to this day, as well as weigh ins from writers, scholars and experts. The show debuted in April 2020 and became the second most-watched series premiere in Shudder history, behind the channel’s only other breakout hit, Creepshow. The series now stands as the service’s most-watched documentary premiere—series or film—ever.

Season two will be written, directed and edited by Jay Cheel (How to Build a Time Machine) and executive produced by Jonas Prupas and Courtney Dobbins from Muse Entertainment, along with Jay Cheel and Brian Robertson from Low End.
