Short Film Review: ‘Candle Cove’ (2018)

As we become adults, we look back fondly at the shows of our childhood. Many of us grew up watching Sesame Street or perhaps a show regional to your area. Imagine if you found out something completely disturbing about your beloved show, and it was not how you remembered it playing out at all. This is what Andrew J.D. Robinson’s Candle Cove delves into. Does this 2 minute film deliver the creepiness is this short time frame? Read on to find out!

My Thoughts:

Candle Cove may only be just under two minutes, but the film is tremendously effective in creeping you out. It gave me the chills. It is based loosely on a Creepypasta with the same name. In the story, Candle Cove was a local television series from the ’70s about pirates with some genuinely horrifying puppets. This film begins with nostalgia and ends with a disturbing thought that will leave you wanting more, truly enveloping both creepy and nostalgia all under two minutes. If you are a fan of Creepypastas, this film will not disappoint! If you are new to Creepypastas, do yourself a favor and start off with this one!

Final Thoughts:

I loved this short film and I highly recommend you watch it for yourself. I’ve included the film below. I can’t wait to see more from 15 Second Horror Challenge’s Andrew J.D. Robinson.
