This man/shark's on a mission to steal our freedom in Post Apocalyptic Commando Shark, 2018.

‘Post Apocalyptic Commando Shark’ Might Make You Stop Worrying And Love The Schlock

As if nuclear war wasn’t bad enough, now those damn Soviets are throwing in everyone’s favorite finned predators in Post Apocalyptic Commando Shark. PopHorror recently snagged the Troma-esque trailer for this horror comedy. Maybe if I had seen this irreverent take on Armageddon as a child, I wouldn’t have spent so many nights cowering under my sheets, scared out of my mind over The Bomb.

Post Apocalyptic Commando Shark is written and directed by Sam Qualiana (Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast 2011) and features an appearance from prolific Troma Scream Queen Debbie Rochon (Return to Nuke ‘Em High: Volume 2 2017).

So, imagine a future where the Russkies have teamed up with a German scientist to create an army of man/shark hybrids, presumably to wipe out the pockets of American resistance still hanging on after the nuclear war.

My first impression upon viewing this trailer: “Gee, these woods look pretty pristine for having weathered a mushroom cloud.”

My second impression: “Who the hell cares?”

Because with a title like THIS, you’re not getting high brow, A24-type fare.

You WILL get paunchy, questionably-trained soldiers, stock footage, gore, and disjointed, Gung Ho speeches about ‘Merica.

And, of course, at least one obligatory reference to The Room.

It’s just like Red Dawn (1984). Sorta. From left to right, Jesse Huntz, Simeon Qualiana and Andrew Elias in Post Apocalyptic Commando Shark (2018).

With all that in mind, I’ll take Post Apocalyptic Commando Shark over The Meg (2018) any damn day.

Post Apocalyptic Commando Shark is set to premiere in November. Keep reading for potential DVD or VOD release dates.
