Nightmares Film Festival 2021 Unveils 3 Secret Screenings

Nightmares Film Festival revealed recently it’s been hiding three secret Sunday screenings in its “#BetterHorror” schedule. And that additional lineup? It’s a doozy, with an A24 feature, a feature horror-comedy starring Bruce Campbell, and two episodes of brand new SYFY series Day of the Dead followed by a live Q&A with the showrunners.

“Nightmares is really about a genre adventure and feeling a sense of discovery, so each year, we try to have some surprises for the Sleepless hidden away in the program,” said co-founder Chris Hamel, using the festival’s moniker for its die-hard audience. “We kept this year’s second screen on Sunday a secret until now, and we think these three additional experiences are really special, and add to an already industry-leading program.”

All three previously secret screenings will take place on Sunday, October 24. They begin at noon Eastern with the world’s only theatrical screening of the first two episodes of SYFY’s new Romero-inspired series, Day of the Dead, followed by a live Q&A with co-showrunners and executive producers Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas. SYFY describes the series, which airs Friday nights, as “the intense story of six strangers trying to survive the first 24 hours of an undead invasion.”
