The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw

Movie Review: ‘The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw’ (2020)

The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw has won over critics and fans alike and now I know why. It’s a spellbinding experience that will cast a spell over you from beginning to end!

The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw

This film was written and directed by Thomas Robert Lee. The cast stars Catherine Walker, Jared Abrahamson, Hannah Emily Anderson, Geraldine O’Rawe, Don McKellar, Sean McGinley, and introducing Jessica Reynolds as Audrey Earnshaw.

Synopsis for The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw

Set against the autumnal palette of harvest season in 1973, The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw explores the disturbed bond between Audrey, an enigmatic young woman, and Agatha, her domineering ‘mother’, who live secretly as occultists on the outskirts of a remote Protestant village. As the community is besieged by a pestilence of unknown origin: children, fields, and livestock begin to die — yet the Earnshaw farm remains strangely unaffected. As mass hysteria sets in the village, the townsfolk commence accusations against Audrey and Agatha of witchcraft.

This film was beautifully made with captivating cinematography, rich imagery, phenomenal performances, and a story that will haunt your dreams.

The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw was fueled by strong female performances led by Catherine Walker, Hannah Emily Anderson, and Jessica Reynolds. They each bring an important part to the story and work together to create something truly magical. I was especially impressed by Jessica. She’s new to the business and you would never know by her emotionally powered performance. She delivers on all aspects.

The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw

This film was a thrilling ride packed full of mystery and suspense. It keeps the audience guessing and what an ending! You can’t help but fall in love with the beautiful cinematography and haunting atmosphere.
