Mom and Dad

‘Mom and Dad’ (2017) Review: F*cking Hilarious, Morbidly Beautiful

We’re almost through the first month of 2018 and that can only mean one thing… Mom and Dad will be in theaters and available on VOD and Digital HD on January 19 – which is today! Read our review and find out if this is one that you should check out ASAP.

Distributed by Momentum Pictures, the film was directed and written by Brian Taylor. The cast includes Nicolas Cage, Selma Blair, Anne Winters, Lance Henriksen, and Zackary Arthur.

Official Synopsis of Mom and Dad:

Nicolas Cage and Selma Blair star in this pitch black horror comedy about a worldwide mass hysteria where, for 24 brutal hours, parents turn violently against their own children.

To be completely honest… I loved every fucking second of Mom and Dad. It was pure chaotic fun and super intense. The story is refreshing with striking characters and off the wall insanity.

I love how the story played out. It gave a brief moment of calmness before the storm and then, all hell broke loose. As soon as that happened, there was not a dull moment on the screen until the very end.

All of the characters give stand out performances. However, Selma Blair and Nicholas Cage kill it. Absolutely kill it. Seeing them rage hardcore and try to kill their kids is morbidly beautiful to witness. Above all, this is the perfect role for Cage. I think everyone will love seeing him lose his shit, drop f-bombs, and find inventive weapons to torture his children with. I must also mention that Lance Henriksen’s role is an exceptional treat that everyone will dig.

The ending is a bloody fun mess. Viewers can expect a plethora of blood, gore, and holy shit moments throughout. Will any kids survive this bizarre massacre? You’ll have to find out for yourself!

Final Thoughts

Mom and Dad is a brilliant horror comedy that will appeal to all audiences. Fans of Nicholas Cage will rejoice in seeing him go full on ham in this role – basically, doing what he does best. I’m definitely going to own it and you should, too! Either way, be sure to check it out and let us know what you think!
