E3 2019 ‘Blair Witch’ Game Trailer Announcement: Time to Head Back to Burkittsville

During Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference, which was held on June 9, 2019, there were a slew of amazing and surprising video game announcements. However, there was one in particular that will excite all the hardcore horror fans. The game that they revealed is none other than Blair Witch! Check out the trailer below!

Blair Witch was developed by Bloober Team (Layers of Fear) and takes place in Burkittsville in 1996, three years before the original film takes place.

The official synopsis is:

It’s 1996. A young boy disappears in the Black Hills Forest near Burkittsville, Maryland. As Ellis, a former police officer with a troubled past, you join the search. What starts as an ordinary investigation soon turns into an endless nightmare as you confront your fears and the Blair Witch, a mysterious force that haunts the woods…

This looks eerily familiar…

Now, I will admit that I was never a fan of the movie series, but the lore that has been built up in Blair Witch has always intrigued me. To be able to experience being out in the Black Hills Forest is very appealing to me as well. From the looks of this trailer, I am guaranteed to be on edge of my seat the entire time while gripping my controller with white knuckles. Just watching this trailer creeped me the hell out! I can’t wait to jump into Blair Witch when it is released on Xbox One and PC on August 31, 2019.
