We all got through heartbreaks in life, but some take it worse than others. Some people can’t handle it when they see the person they love with someone else and take it way too far. All of this and more happens in The One I Adore, a thriller short that had its world premiere at BITS 2017.
This intense thriller short is written and directed by Jason Seelmann. The cast includes Nicole Henderson, Jocelyn Anna Lernout, Matteo De Cola.
Official Synopsis:
A short film about a love lost and the lengths some are capable of to get it back.
The One I Adore is just shy of 9 minutes and is a compelling thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat. No words are spoken throughout the story, which I thought was brilliant. Instead, they rely on lighting, camera angles, as well as strong facial gestures and body movement to guide us along.
Jocelyn Anna Lernout does a beautiful job at playing a deranged ex-girlfriend. She’s frightened and takes stalker to a whole new level.
There’s also a slight twist with the story. I guessed it early on, but I loved it and was glad the director went that way with it. Plus, I’m still not sure if “the relationship” truly ever happened or if it was all in her head.
Final Thoughts:
I love that they chose to make this a silent film. When done properly, like in The One I Adore, it creates a super intense atmosphere unlike any other. Check it out when you can!
