The forest. The dark. It encloses you into a naturally creepy environment. Four girls alone in the woods decide to play a game of Spotlight. It is a game of hide and seek with a flashlight. You have a person who is It. They count backwards and when they reach zero, they search for the hiders. The first person found, becomes the next It and you repeat the game. This short film, Spotlight, which is based on the game is just about five minutes. Does this movie give a good scare in those short five minutes? Read on to find out!

Spotlight Synopsis:

A short, one shot horror film about four young girls who play a game of Spotlight in the forest.

The film is written and directed by Joe Savage. It stars Chloe Chapman, Olivia Hespe, Laura Jones, Jody Larcombe and Jack Cummings.

My Thoughts:

The climax of Spotlight is absolutely terrifying! The build up is top notch. The film itself uses the natural fear of the dark, the game of hide and seek and the reliance of anticipation building up the end. You know from the start that this isn’t probably the best idea, and you know it will turn dark quickly. While you may have an idea of what may happen, it still surprises you right at the very last second. I loved this film! It was my kind of scare! If you get a chance to see it, make sure you do!
