Domiziano Cristopharo (Eldorado, read our review here) is a modern-day, extreme horror maestro. We at PopHorror have followed the writer/director/producer/cinematographer’s career for some time now (read our 2017 interview) and are always curious to see what he’s up to next! Cristopharo sends word about his next project, 6 SONGS, an international horror anthology where music is the main character.
From The ‘6 Songs’ Press Release
6 international directors represent “terror” using 6 different Songs!
Music has a powerful ability to influence storytelling and create a distinctive atmosphere in horror films, as soundtracks shape specific moods and help to direct the audience’s emotions throughout the narrative. But what happens when a song is actually the main “character” of a horror tale? We will explore each director’s
vision thanks to one of the most original and unusual themes ever presented in a horror anthology film.Cristopharo is not new in the matter of bringing to the audience anthologies based on original and weird themes: A TASTE OF PHOBIA crafted by 14 directors who aren’t afraid to explore mankind’s most bizarre and frightening phobias, VORE/GORE the only movie about Vorarephilia a paraphilia characterized by the erotic desire to be consumed, and the P.O.E. saga, where the cells of the Edgar Allan Poe’s stories are cloned for give life to new tales.
In addition to Cristopharo himself, the new film features the talents of Corey DeAn Cowley (XXX DARK NET: Red Lips), Joseph Russio (Beyond Dark Dreams), Irene Jones Baruffetti (Vore/Gore), Slade Wilson (XXX DARK NET: Red Lips), and Pete Lankston (King James Bible).
Stay tuned for more info about the project as it becomes available! In the meantime, you may want to check out our reviews of Cristopharo’s Obsessed and La perdición.
