PopHorror Let's Get Scared
After the rise and fall of the area’s beloved Rock and Shock, New England was clamoring for another horror and music con that they could sink their teeth into. Along came Silver Scream Con in 2022, created by Spencer Charnas and Jeremy Schwartz, members of the Boston heavy metal band, Ice Nine Kills. PopHorror was there, and let me tell you, it was amazing! There were so many horror icons, artists, and musicians crammed into the Doubletree North Shore hotel, it seemed like every horror and music lover from the entire east Coast was there. And the INK concert Saturday night was just icing on the cake!
This year, Silver Scream Con is back!
The sequel you’ve been dying for…
ICE NINE KILLS put their bloody fingerprints all over THE SILVER SCREAM CONVENTION, a brand-new weekend of macabre celebration for genre fiends set in the band’s home state of Massachusetts. The band Kerrang! calls “horrorcore icons” pay homage to the celluloid classics that first possessed singer Spencer Charnas as a kid on their No. 1 Billboard Hard Rock albums The Silver Scream and The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood. In 2022, that demented love blossomed into an INK-curated horror convention! At the first-ever SILVER SCREAM CON, movie lovers, casual fans, and INK’s beloved “psychos” chopped it up with the stars of legendary horror franchises, including meet-and-greets, photo-ops, cosplay, an INK concert, and MANY MORE surprises. “The Silver Scream Con brought horror fanatics and INK fans from all over the world together to celebrate their love of on-screen slaughter,” Spencer noted. “This is the chance for our loyal psychos to not only interact with the band, but to meet the stars of the very films that our music pays tribute to.” And now Silver Scream Convention heads into it’s second year taking over Danvers once again September 8-10, 2023 as the sequel everyone’s been dying for!
Included on this year’s guest list are Spencer himself, plus Tony Todd, Skeet Ulrich, Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl, Adam Green, wrestler Chris Jericho, the two Tom’s – Savini and Atkins – Joe Lynch, Judy Aronson, Christine Elise, Alex Vincent, Tommy Lee Wallace, CJ Graham, and many more. There will be photos ops available with many of the attending talent, in and out of costume, plus discussion panels hosted by Ryan J. Downey, a horror mercy flea market, and costume contests, a Friday night karaoke and the INK concert on Saturday. Plus more to be announced.
