The Watcher of Park Avenue (2017) – Short Movie Review

When asked if I would like to watch and review the short horror film, The Watcher of Park Avenue, I didn’t know much about it. The only thing I knew, is it stars two famous alumnae from the NOES franchise. Nightmare on Elm Street is tied with Halloween as my favorite franchise, so I was excited to watch. Who are the famous alumni of NOES? Is this film worth a watch? Read on to find out!

Official Synopsis:

As a Manhattan Serial Killer strikes yet again, Lt. Sam Warren (Amanda Wyss) is hellbent on taking him down. He may be closer than she could have ever imagined.

The film stars Amanda Wyss (Tina Gray – NOES 1984) as Lt. Sam Warren. There is a killer on the loose and she is determined to be the person who takes the killer down. It’s New Year’s Eve and she wants the New Year to be free of the watcher of Park Avenue.

“YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE LET YOUR FRIEND WALK HOME ALONE!”

The film also stars Lisa Wilcox (Alice – NOES 4- 1988 and NOES 5 -1989) as the social butterfly friend, Gwen Hedren. The film is written and directed by Ryan Burton. He also stars in the film as, a concerned friend, Charlie Thompson.

“BLANCHEYOU HOME? BLANCHE? BLANCHE?”

The characters are all well-portrayed. I loved the determination of Lt. Sam Warren played by the lovely Amanda Wyss. Gwen is an outgoing social butterfly and a loyal friend. Charlie Thompson is the lovable friend with a great personality. The supporting cast offers notable performances, providing to the flow of the storyline, with even some comedic moments.

Final Thoughts on The Watcher of Park Ave:

This film is about 25 minutes and it is a thrill ride the entire time. It is fast-paced and you’re really sure who the killer was. Does Lt. Warren catch the killer before the New Year? You will have to watch to find out. This film provided a twist, that I really didn’t see coming. Maybe I should have, but I didn’t. You will most definitely enjoy this twisted thrill ride of a short film. The cast is superb. The story is developed. If you get a chance to watch this one, please do!
