Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 (read our review HERE) has officially hit streaming platforms so I decided to check it out. I went in with pretty low expectations because let’s be honest, sequels don’t always live up to the original. But to my surprise, it was actually fantastic.
So fantastic that I came up with 10 reasons why it may be better than the first!
Synopsis: One year after the horrific events at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, former night guard Mike is still haunted by what happened. Determined to protect his 11-year-old sister, Abby, he keeps the grim truth about her beloved animatronic friends hidden from her. But when Abby secretly returns to the abandoned pizzeria to reunite with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, she unknowingly unleashes a chain of chilling events—uncovering long-buried secrets about the sinister origins of Freddy’s and awakening a nightmare that was never truly laid to rest.

1. THE PLOT
I’m sure you know what I mean. Honestly, I only checked out this sequel because of Skeet Ulrich (read our interview with him HERE), but I ended up being pleasantly surprised by how good it actually was. The opening scene perfectly captures the reality of ’80s parenting and immediately sets the tone for the rest of the film. The story feels like a natural continuation of the original, carrying forward the familiar characters while also introducing a new animatronic to keep things fresh. And we definitely can’t forget the cameo from Skeet Ulrich! My only real criticism is that we needed even more of him. Be sure to stick around after the credits, too — there’s a teaser that hints at a possible third installment.
Check it out and let us know your thoughts!
