Samuel Goodwin’s ‘Homesick’ (2018) Short Film Review

Homesick is a hypnotic short film that unfolds majestically. It’s a unique tale that features David (Samuel Goergen: Stranger Things TV series) as the young lead who has zero dialogue. I appreciated that it was intimate in its single location of the kid’s home. You could tell he was doing his daily routines before his parents got home.

As we see David go to his room, things get weird and suspenseful. This is where Director Samuel Goodwin (Fearhaus TV series) creates terrifying tension with the atmosphere, and with no dialogue or music, it’s up to us as the viewers to figure out what’s going on. The result is stunning to watch.

Overall, Homesick is an impressive film that is set to premiere on the Alter horror network on November 27, 2020. This is a very satisfying short film that leaves you wanting more.
