‘Goodbye Honey’ is A Delightfully Twisted Thriller – Nightmares Film Festival 2020 Movie Review

Next up for our coverage of Nightmares Film Festival 2020 is the exciting thriller, Goodbye Honey. This was a fantastic film that had my pulse racing!

This film was directed by Max Strand as well as written by himself and Todd Rawiszer. The cast includes Juliette Alice Gobin, Pamela Jayne Morgan, Peyton Michelle Edwards, Paul C. Kelly, and Stacey Van Gorder.

Synopsis for Goodbye Honey

After escaping abduction, a frantic woman must coerce an exhausted truck driver to hide in the back of her truck for the night. The two women take refuge not knowing what the rest of the night has in store.

Although abduction films are nothing new, this story sheds new light on it. A unique story with a different perspective. There’s a constant nagging at the back of your brain that makes you wonder if this young girl Phoebe (Gobin) really was abducted or if she’s just crazy. As the story continues we learn more about her and why this is all happening. If I were Dawn (Morgan), I’m not sure I would have taken the chance on her.

goodbye honey

Goodbye Honey is a female-driven masterpiece. Both Juliette Alice Gobin and Pamela Jayne Morgan deliver outstanding performances and work beautifully together on screen. The relationship they build throughout the film is raw and unique and it’s based on empathy and doing the right thing. Neither one trust each other, but they must learn to work together in order to survive.

This is a film that has twists and turns lurking around every corner. However, that ending was crazy and blew my mind. I didn’t see that coming at all and it was devilishly twisted perfection. That’s all I can say without giving any spoilers but YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Final Thoughts

If you love a good thriller with strong female-driven performances that will keep you at the edge of your seat, Goodbye Honey is for you. Check it out and all the other films currently playing at Nightmares Film Festival.
