Lauren Fash’s ‘Disappearance at Lake Elrod’ is Coming to Digital on November 1

I have a significant other that is not a horror fan, so I’ve come to really appreciate the psychological thriller. It’s the perfect bridge between the die hard scary movie aficionado and that special person in their lives who might not have as much of an appreciation for Michael Myers as they do. Some can be though provoking, suspenseful, and sometimes pretty darn creepy. Some have even transcended the psychological thriller sub-genre and now reside along side bona fide horror titles. I’m always up for a really good one.

Disappearance at Lake Elrod premieres on nearly every streaming platform on November 1, 2021. It stars the quintessential ’80s girl next door, Robyn Lively (Teen Witch, The Karate Kid Part 3, Parker Lewis Can’t Lose) in a role unlike any she’s done before.

From the official press release:

Lightbulb Film Distribution are delighted to share the poster and trailer for new psychological crime thriller, Disappearance at Lake Elrod

The film stars Robyn Lively (Teen Witch, Wildcats), Shanola Hampton (Shameless), Bethany Anne Lind (Ozark) and Michael Trucco (Midnight Mass, The Bye Bye Man) and was directed by Lauren Fash, who also wrote the screenplay with Susan Graham.

The film was recently released in North America under the original title, Through The Glass Darkly.

A year after her daughter’s disappearance, another girl from Elrod, Georgia, goes missing. Convinced there is a connection, Charlie (Robyn Lively) won’t stop searching until she discovers the truth.

Commenting on the release, Peter Thompson, Sales & Acquisitions Director at Lightbulb Film Distribution, said:

“We are delighted to be bringing this smart, crime thriller to UK audiences next month. Robyn Lively – best known for iconic 80s classics Teen Witch and Wildcats – is sensational as the crazed mother, desperately seeking answers. It had us gripped from the first minute to the last.”

Disappearance At Lake Elrod will be available to download or stream from AppleTV, Sky Store, Virgin Media, Amazon and Google Play, and available on DVD from Morrisons, Amazon and HMV.

Disappearance at Lake Elrod will be released on Digital Download and on DVD in the UK from November 1, 2021.

About Kevin Scott

Parents who were not film savvy and completely unprepared for choosing child appropriate viewing material were the catalyst that fueled my lifelong love affair with horror, exploitation, blaxploitation, low budget action, and pretty much anything that had to be turned off when my grandparents visited. I turned out okay for the most part, so how bad could all these films actually be?
