FGBFF 2018 – ‘Don’t Open Your Eyes’ Short Film Review

We all want success and beauty. Well, most of us do. Sometimes it feels like no matter how hard we try we never succeed and we become envious of the people that do. If someone gave you a chance to change everything, would you take it?

In our newest review for the Final Gils Berlin Film Festival, Don’t Open Your Eyes, one sister reveals a secret in hopes that she will gain control of her life.

This short was written and directed by Adrián García Bogliano and Andrea Quiroz. The cast includes Inger Nilsson, Christina Lindberg, Felice Jankell, Erica Midfjäll, and Hanna Midfjäll.

Official Synopsis for Don’t Open Your Eyes:

Sisters reunite after a year. One is suddenly doing incredibly well for herself and it’s all because of a mysterious hypnotic vinyl record with extraordinary powers.

This one started out kind of slow and had me wondering where it would go. I got to say I was impressed. The end was by far the best part and was wickedly twisted.

I also really enjoyed the special effects. They weren’t utilized a lot, but two scenes, in particular, stood out. One was rather creepy and specifical effects and makeup created that atmosphere.

Final Thoughts:

Be sure to check out Don’t Open Your Eyes as well as all the other features at the Final Girls Berlin Film Festival. You won’t be disappointed!
