Alter, YouTube’s destination for independent genre films, is set to premiere a horror short directed by filmmaking Chris Paicely and Miles August: The Girl In The Street. The film stars Shawn Roundtree Jr. (Emperor of Ocean Park), Whitney Blair Masters, D’Andra Laneé, and Chris Anthony.
Synopsis
The Girl in the Street follows Malachi (Roundtree Jr.), who accepts a life-changing job opportunity that forces him to leave behind his dying younger sister (Laneé) and relocate to a remote town. Upon arrival, a disturbing encounter with a moving truck driver (Anthony) unsettles him. As he settles into his new home, a bloodied, masked woman appears on the dirt road outside, screaming. Faced with a chilling moral dilemma—help the woman or remain safely inside—Malachi is pushed to confront the limits of his own humanity. The film interrogates whether being “good” is enough when survival is at stake, while exposing the unsettling undercurrents of suburban morality and the cult-like loyalty hidden beneath small-town charm.
