‘A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE’ Star Lupita Nyong’o Honored By Hollywood Confidential

Lupita Nyong’o (Us 2019 [our review]), who is set to play Sam in the upcoming A Quiet Place: Day One, was honored on Friday, June 14, by Hollywood Confidential.

The brainchild of television producer Steve Jones, Hollywood Confidential is a live event series dedicated to educating creatives of color on the inner workings of the entertainment industry from a panel of veterans. Past guest honorees included Tiffany Haddish (Haunted Mansion 2023), Snoop Dogg (Training Day 2001) and Regina King (Ray 2004), just to name a few.

During the June 14 event, which took place at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater, located in Beverly Hills, California, the work of the Oscar-winning actress was spotlighted. In addition to several surprise guests who have been instrumental in her life and career making an appearance, attendees also enjoyed the debut of exclusive clips from Paramount Pictures’ A Quiet Place: Day One, which is only in theaters, Dolby Cinema and IMAX on June 28.

The film’s synopsis is simple:

Experience the day the world went quiet.

This prequel to 2018’s John Krasinski- and Emily Blunt-led A Quiet Place chronicles when the mysterious, deadly creatures that hunt by sound first wrecked havoc on Earth. A Quiet Place: Day One also stars Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things 2022), Alex Wolff (Hereditary 2018) and Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond 2006).
