It’s been about four months since Child’s Play creator Don Mancini’s hit SYFY series, Chucky, which brought everyone’s favorite supernaturally possessed Good Guys doll into homes every Tuesday night, wrapped up its premiere season with a slew of cliffhangers. From Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) having her limbs unwillingly amputated by Tiffany Valentine (Jennifer Tilly), to Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent – our interview) escaping with a truckload of Chuckys only to be held up at gunpoint by Tiffany the doll, the finale left viewers speechless when it aired on November 30, 2021. Ever since, not a day has gone by without fans desperately asking on social media, “When is season two coming out!?”
So far, there’s only been speculation about an official air date, with many assuming it will be in the fall because season one dropped last year on October 12th. But now, Chucky diehards have information that’s a bit more concrete thanks to Ms. Valentine herself. On Instagram, Tilly shared a photo of herself and some friends enjoying drinks at the scenic Rosewood Miramar Beach and responded to a number of comments on the post. One of Tilly’s followers asked, “When is the new season coming out?! Me and my daughter have been WAITING!!!!!” Tilly answered, “We start filming next month! So I’m guessing in the Fall! I’m glad you guys are enjoying it!”
While the exact air date still isn’t set in stone, one thing is for sure – Tilly and the gang are definitely reuniting in April to begin shooting a fresh set of unforgettable scenes. Thanks to the actors’ efforts in season one, not to mention Mancini’s perfectly-disturbed creative mind, Chucky is nominated for Best Horror Series in the 2nd annual Critics Choice Super Awards, the winners of which will be announced on March 17th.
Chucky viewers can’t wait to see what happens next. What are Chucky’s (Brad Dourif) plans for his brand new army of Good Guys? Will Jake Wheeler (Zackary Arthur) and Devon Evans (Björgvin Arnarson) be able to make their relationship work amidst the ongoing terror in Hackensack? Does the black, gloved hand spotted at the cemetery belong to Kyle (Christine Elise)? And is Junior Wheeler (Teo Briones), who brutally murdered his father, Logan (Devon Sawa), under the influence of Chucky, actually dead? According to hints dropped in PopHorror’s interview with Briones, he might not be…
