Watch the Trailer for ‘Freaks’ Starring Emile Hirsch and Bruce Dern

Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein wrote, produced and directed Freaks (read our review here), a movie that may just be one of the most enigmatic and promising projects this year. Both are first time filmmakers and their project is not as simple as the title.

We reported recently that the film has since been picked up by distribution company WELL GO USA, who has released a brand new trailer for us. Check it out!

Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild 2007, The Autopsy of Jane Doe 2016 – read our review here) plays a troubled father taking care of his young daughter, Chloe (Lexy Kolker: The Little Mermaid 2018, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series), and seems a bit maniacal about keeping her unseen and inside. He stays awake constantly to watch her and make sure no one comes to their house. His reasons are unclear at first, but he knows something she doesn’t. Enter Bruce Dern (The ‘Burbs 1989, The Hateful Eight 2015), an ice cream man known as Mr. Snowcone, who convinces her to step outside. Of course, there is much more going on beneath the surface.

Freaks hits theaters on August 23rd from WELL GO USA.

About Kevin Scott

Parents who were not film savvy and completely unprepared for choosing child appropriate viewing material were the catalyst that fueled my lifelong love affair with horror, exploitation, blaxploitation, low budget action, and pretty much anything that had to be turned off when my grandparents visited. I turned out okay for the most part, so how bad could all these films actually be?
