There are some who say Nic Cage never met a role he didn’t like. Let’s face it: the dude makes a LOT of movies. Luckily for us, Cage just so happens to be great in just about everything, so there aren’t many roles WE don’t like either! Yes, Nic Cage has an Oscar in his trophy case for Leaving Las Vegas. The guy can definitely act. But what can Cage do better than just about anyone else? Why, he can be CRAZY! And crazy is exactly what I’m expecting out of his latest announced project: Wally’s Wonderland!
According to various sources, including Variety, Mr. Crazy is on board for a new film that pits him and Party of Five star Emily Tosta against evil animatronics. If you’ve ever taken your kids to a Chuck-E-Cheese, you know just how scary those damned things can be. Color (out of Space) us excited!
Read on for the details, but first? Check out some of Cage’s all time best freak outs and get PUMPED UP!
Wally’s Wonderland Synopsis
A quiet drifter is tricked into a janitorial job at the now condemned Wally’s Wonderland. The mundane tasks suddenly become an all-out fight for survival against wave after wave of demonic animatronics. Fists fly, kicks land, titans clash — and only one side will make it out alive.
According to IMDB, the cast includes the aforementioned Cage and Tosta. G.O. Parsons wrote the script. Kevin Lewis (Dark Heart, 2006) will man the director’s chair. Landmark Studio Group, Landafar Entertainment, JD Entertainment, Saturn Films, Screen Media Ventures, Baffin Media Limited, and Great Point Media are working together to make this dream a reality.
Here’s a look at the early poster art, also from IMDB. Freaky!
Wow! This sounds insane! And that’s certainly how we like our Nic Cage. From Mandy (read our review here) to Mom and Dad (read our review here) to Color Out of Space (read our review here), he’s been on a flat out TEAR lately! We can’t wait to see Wally’s Wonderland. I bet it goes straight to ELEVEN on the Cage-Sanity scale!
