According to Nerdly, Unearthed Films has announced they are currently in production for a documentary on the controversial movie A Serbian Film.

Now in production from Unearthed Films and Contra Films comes A Serbian Documentary, which will take an exclusive look at “SRPSKI FILM” aka A Serbian Film and the world wide reactions of one of the most talked about, controversial films of the last decade – a film which has been banned, censored, and has even had legal charges brought against film festival promoters just for showing it!
Director Stephen Biro and Jason Koch are co-directing along with Srdjan Spasojevic producing along side Unearthed Films, Contra Films and Dire Wit Films. With over 60 hours of behind the scenes footage that has never been seen before, A Serbian Documentary will give the fans, the ultimate exploration of one of the most talked about films in horror history.
This in-depth documentary will have exclusive interviews with the actors, crew members, writers and of course, Sdjan Spasojevic, Director of A Serbian Film; celebrity interviews of what they thought while watching this for the first time and how it would affect the cinema world. And whether good or bad, the filmmakers promise we’ll hear from critics, film makers, distributors and film festival programmers and get their honest reactions of A Serbian Film.
This film is probably one of the most, if not THE most controversial film ever made, often used among horror fans as a test on their threshold of how much onscreengore and torture they can withstand. The film has everything from blood and guts to the rape of a newborn infant. Some argue that the film only exists for pure shock value. It will be interesting to see how much this documentary explores of the film, what went on behind the scenes and what Spasojevic had intended with producing such a film. What do you think?
