‘The Wayward Sisters’ to Spinoff from ‘Supernatural’

According to Deadline, The CW is going to produce a spinoff from the hit show titled The Wayward Sisters. The pilot will air as a backdoor pilot, initially as an episode of Supernatural introducing the new characters while bringing over some of the current characters.

Outline:

Written by Berens and Dabb, Wayward Sisters is expected to bring over other characters featured on the mothership series as well as introduce new ones. I hear Rhodes is the only actress currently attached to the spinoff, with talks with others in various stages. Based on the premise of the project, two existing Supernatural characters, orphan Claire Novak and runaway Alex Jones, who had been put under Jody’s care, would fit in nicely, with Jody’s colleague and occasional partner, Sheriff Donna Hanscum, also a strong candidate.

The show will star Kim Rhodes, but as stated above, no one else as far was we know has been officially cast in the new show. The Wayward Sisters will be written by Andrew Dabb, Robert Singer, Phil Sgriccia, and Robert Berens. All of which are current Supernatural writers or showrunners.

This should be exciting news for the long-running show. Many have wondered just how many seasons Supernatural has left. They’ll be excited to know the stories can continue in The Wayward Sisters if it turns out to be successful. There is no reason to think it won’t be if it is done well. Are you excited about The Wayward Sisters?
