Mondo Tees and Project Raygun are teaming up to bring you a new horror-themed board game – The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31! According to their recent announcement, the regular version of the game will be in stores and online nationwide this October. If that’s not cool enough for you, a limited edition Mondo exclusive version will be available at MondoTees.com.
The exclusive version (only 1982 copies) features different packaging artwork by Jock. The limited edition also comes with a Mondo print, enamel pin, and two extra sculpted movers: the Norwegian Character and the Palmer Thing.

Based on the 1982 John Carpenter classic, The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31 allows players to relive the film as one of a dozen characters. The press release mentions MacReady, Childs, and Garry by name. The rest of the Outpost 31 crew will undoubtedly be represented as well. “Watch Clark. And watch him close, do you hear me?”
The game is set at the start of the Antarctic winter when a group of NSF researchers manning isolated U.S. Outpost 31 comes into contact with a hostile extraterrestrial life form. Bent on assimilating Earth’s native species, this creature infiltrates the facility. Soon it creates a perfect imitation of one of the Outpost 31 crew. The staff must sweep the base, gather equipment and weapons, battle The Thing, and ultimately escape Outpost 31!

Check out this awesome picture of Wilford Brimley (Blair), Thomas Waites (Windows) and cinematographer Dean Cundey posing with a copy of the game! Very cool!

Sign me up! I don’t know about you, but I NEED a special edition copy of this game! Who’s with me?
