From The Radio Rental Press Release
From Tenderfoot TV, in partnership with Cadence 13, Radio Rental, explores real-life stories set against the backdrop of a fictional video store. Episodes 1-4 are now live, with new episodes rolling out every Tuesday. Wilson voices the character of Terry Carnation, a video store clerk who holds a secret VHS collection that houses these true tales of horror and the unexplained. This marks the first semi-scripted series from podcasting powerhouse Tenderfoot TV, who is known for their five consecutive chart-topping true crime hits, tallying over 450 million downloads.
“Radio Rental is a unique take on telling true stories,” said Payne Lindsey, Co-founder of Tenderfoot TV and host of Radio Rental. “Rainn’s an incredible actor and has created the perfect character to introduce the world to Radio Rental.
Actor, comedian, director, and writer Rainn Wilson, best known for his role as Dwight Schrute on the NBC sitcom The Office, co-founder of digital media company Soul Pancake, and host of recently released podcast Metaphysical Milkshake, will bring a mystifying spin to Lindsey’s newest podcast as Terry Carnation, the video store clerk and gatekeeper to a cryptic collection of real-life horror stories. Carnation is the sometimes-host of the legendary late night AM call-in radio show, Dark Air. He recently had a very public mental breakdown (which he apologizes for!) but is making his way back into the hosting world again.
The first four episodes of the podcast are available now, with subsequent episodes hitting every Tuesday. You can subscribe to Radio Rental here.
Final Thoughts
Fun stuff! Rainn Wilson is a funny guy. His talents seem well suited to the podcasting universe. I think I’ll have to give this a listen on my drive to work. I can’t believe the ratings… 4.8 out of 5 with over 5000 reviews. Damn!
