It must be the season of filming movies in secret. Now, there is a sequel to 2015’s The Gallows. Just like Adam Green’s Victor Crawley; it was filmed in secret. There was no news about the sequel until a ticketing website 1 iota; had an advanced screening of The Gallows 2.

After aspiring actress Auna Rue transfers to a prestigious new school, her desires are twisted by a viral challenge capable of conjuring a malevolent spirit.
According to Bloody Disgusting, the cast includes Ema Horvath, Brittany Falardeau and Chris Milligan. No director or writer has been revealed at this time. The site 1 iota has held special screenings for The Conjuring films, the new IT film (2017) and the first film, The Gallows.
The Gallows is a found footage film set in a haunted school. Charlie, a vengeful spirit, torments the teens and kills them by hanging them. The first film had a budget of $100,000 and it grossed approximately $40 million worldwide. That alone would merit a sequel. However, it was not well received by critics and fans. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 16% fresh rating. Overall on Rotten Tomatoes per the reviews, it had a rating of 3.2/10. Fans on the site were a little bit less critical of the film with the average score of 2.3/5.
