‘The Devil’s Playground’ (1976) Now Available on DVD And VOD

Now available on DVD and VOD is director Fred Schepisi’s (Roxanne 1987) classic 1976 film, The Devil’s Playground. The film stars Charles McCallum (Return to Eden 1983), Simon Burke (Rake 2016), John Frawley (Flying Doctors 1985), Arthur Dignam (Australia 2008), Nick Tate (Killer Elite 2011), and Peter Cox (Power Without Glory 1976).

Synopsis:

The Devil’s Playground features a young Simon Burke as Tom, a seminary student struggling with his nascent sexual yearnings and his divine calling. The seminary is lorded over by a group of Brothers who follow a harsh code of religious discipline, all the while repressing their own desires. A lyrical, mordantly funny memory film about the age-old struggles of mind, body and spirit.
