As we’ve reported previously, the Archie universe will once again expand, this time with a show called The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which is dedicated to the series’ character, Sabrina Spellman. This isn’t the first time you’ve heard of Sabrina, of course – she had her own sitcom back in the ’90s called Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. This time, however, the show will be much darker, more of a horror fantasy than a children’s show. We let you know when the show found their Sabrina, and now we’re here to tell you that The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has cast a love interest for the half-witch. Read on to find out more!
Ross Lynch, who just recently played the role of a young Jeffrey Dahmer in the film My Friend Dahmer, has been cast to play the role of Harvey Kinkle, Sabrina’s love interest. Sabrina will be played by Kiernan Shipka. The series is a creation of Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the Chief Creative Officer of Archie Comics. The show will be based on the Archie Comics graphic novel, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Synopsis for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina:
Reimagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. Tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature – half-witch, half-mortal – while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit.
According to Deadline, Harvey Kinkle is:
The prince charming of this dark fairy tale, Harvey is the son of a coal miner, a dreamboat and a dreamer, completely unaware of the dark forces conspiring to keep him and Sabrina apart.
Sabrina is set to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2018. Stay tuned for more casting news and news on the show!
