If you know me, you know I love indie horror and the indie horror community. Basically, once you go indie horror, you never go back. It seems like every day a new horror film is popping up for streaming or a new one is being announced. Often filmmakers are looking for help through an Indiegogo campaign to help fund their film among other things. Some may wonder, why would I want to contribute money to help someone else make THEIR film? I get it, I really do. But try not to think of it like that. Think of it as an investment. Do you love watching horror films? Do you often buy them on digital platforms or physical media? Well, with campaigns you can be ONE OF THE FIRST to own a copy of a hot new indie slasher or psychological mindfuck. Plus, who doesn’t love posters? And you can never own enough horror t-shirts. All of this brings me to the topic of a new horror film called The Embalmers and their Indiegogo campaign – https://igg.me/at/embalmers.

The Embalmers is an upcoming indie horror film from Diane Fraker, Rebecca Rinehart, and Rob Mello. The cast includes Rob Mello (Happy Death Day, Happy Death Day 2U, Magnificent Seven), Helene Udy (My Bloody Valentine, The Dead Zone, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman), Andrea Collins (Belly Timber, Death Care, The Hospital), Alyss Winkler (Space Babes from Outer Space, Plank Face, Violet), Julie Anne Prescott (Stranded, Kill Dolly Kill, Teacher Shortage), and Jonni Shandor (Parallels).

But why does this film stand out above the rest? Simple – their teaser video. They shot it recently to give you a taste of what’s to come and what’s to be expected. Such a smart and brilliant move. The teaser is uploaded on their Indiegogo campaign and gives fans and contributors a chance to see what the film will be about and what the quality will be like. The Embalmers crew doesn’t disappoint with this. The teaser is fucking amazing and gave me chills. It instantly made me want to see it and help this project out!

The Embalmers is a Schwestern Sky Films Production. The plan is to start shooting in September in Bloomington, IN. Times are rough and indie filmmakers need us more than ever. Support horror, support your community. Thank you!
