Sylvain White’s film Slender Man isn’t the only 2018 movie based on the Creepypasta demon. Special effects artist Eric Pham’s (Grindhouse 2007, Lethal Weapon 4 1998) sophomoric directorial feature film, Flay, will also release this year… March 6 to be exact. After the infamous Slender Man trial wrapped up late last year, the horror community has been chomping at the bit for more info on the legend of the faceless, long-armed creature that has actually inspired teen girls to attempt to kill their classmate. Eric Pham is here to tell you more. First, take a look at the creepy poster below.
The film’s official synopsis:
After the death of her mother, an estranged daughter struggles to save her brother, and those around her from a malevolent faceless spirit.
The film features Violett Beane (The Flash TV series) and Phantasm star A. Michael Baldwin. Elle LaMont (From Dusk Till Dawn TV series, Machete Kills 2013), Dalton Gray (American Horror Story: Hotel TV series, Dumber and Dumber To), Johnny Walter (Butcher Boys 2012), Aaron Spivey-Sorrells (Friday Night Lights TV series), Peggy Schott (Honor Student 2015), Kaylee King (Hell of a Night 2017) and David Harrod, Jr. (Humans vs Zombies 2011) also star.
The film was produced by both Eric and Kristine Pham (Knockout 2007). Japanese composer Ahihiko Matsumoto (Bayside Shakedown 1998, Dirty Hearts 2011) created the score while effects artist Ali Davis (Cagers 2014) was in charge of special makeup and effects.
Flay will release on March 6 via VOD through Phame Factory. Keep your eyes peeled for its release and an upcoming review from PopHorror. And, last but not least, here’s the trailer for the film.
