They paid to be scared. They didn’t know how much it would cost them. That’s the tagline for Preston DeFrancis’s upcoming indie horror film Ruin Me.
Alexandra reluctantly tags along for Slasher Sleepout, an extreme event that is part camping trip, part haunted house, and part escape room. But when the fun turns deadly, Alex has to play the game if she wants to make it out alive.
I stumbled across the trailer today and you can color me impressed! Check it out…
Every Halloween, more extreme haunted attractions open for business, each promising even more thrills. Some have taken this to a whole new level. Welcome to Slasher Sleepout: The Ultimate Horror Movie Experience combining camping, haunted house, and an escape room into one extreme 36-hour event.
Six strangers are hooded, dropped in the middle of the woods, and must survive a simulated horror movie. Alexandra, the only participant who has never even seen a horror film, reluctantly tags along with her boyfriend. But when the other campers start to die before their eyes, Alex becomes the star of her worst nightmares.
Wow! This looks great! I’m really impressed with the atmosphere and the sense of paranoia. It feels like it has a little SAW vibe to it. I can’t wait to check this bad boy out!
Ruin Me stars Marcienne Dwyer (House Rules For Bad Girls, Dracula: The Impaler) Matt Dellapina (Dirty 30, Homeland), and Eva Hamilton (BFF, Unusual Suspects). Preston DeFrancis (Quarry, A Teacher’s Obsession) directs. He also co-wrote the Screenplay with Trista A. Bissett.
Ruin Me is currently listed as being in Post Production on IMDB, but it’s been making the rounds on the festival circuit. Fright Fest London and the Women In Horror Festival gave Ruin Me Official Selection awards so far. Sounds like we have a winner!
Ruin Me is targeting a 2017 release according to their Facebook page. We’ll certainly keep you posted as we get more information. In the meantime, like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter @RuinMeMovie.
