It is that time of year when summer break starts. But before you go in the water, there might be something lurking below… or maybe above. Syfy has just released the new title for Sharknado 5, along with the cameos and release date. So before you jump into the water, here are the details in the newest film in the franchise.
Sharknado: Make America Bait Again…This is the tag line for the fifth film which is officially called Sharknado 5: Global Swarming. The tag line obviously comes from the 2016 election, and this is not the first time the franchise has pulled from pop culture. The prior film was called Sharknado 4: The Fourth Awakens. The film will focus on our two heroes, Finn Shepherd (Ian Ziering) and April Wexler (Tara Reid), as they travel the globe to stop a global sharknado.
Official Synopsis:
With much of America lying in ruins, the rest of the world braces for a global sharknado, Fin and his family must travel around the world to stop them.
Now it would not be a Sharknado film without the celebrity cameos:
- Fabio (Model) as the Pope
- Tony Hawk (Professional skateboarder) as a masterful weapons operative strategist
- Clay Aiken (Musician) as Llewelyn, a cutting edge technology genius
- Olivia Newton-John (Musician) and daughter Chloe Lattanzi as Orion and Electra, two brilliant scientists who help defend Australia from a looming sharknado
- Bret Michaels (Musician) as a visiting artist that gets trapped in the storm
- Margaret Cho (Comedian) as a fussy bride whose honeymoon is interrupted by sharks
