Alive (2018) Synopsis
A severely injured man and woman awake in an abandoned hospital to discover that they are “under the care of” a sadistic caretaker. Confused by their surroundings, and uncertain of their injuries and their medical procedures, they can’t be certain if they should escape for survival, or if their survival is in their caretaker’s hands. As the two decide to find a way out, it also becomes more evident their caretaker is the only one with answers to their real identity.
Rob Grant (Harpoon 2019) directed the film from a screenplay Stratagem’s (2005) Chuck McCue and Jules Vincent. Alive stars Thomas Cocquerel (Table 19 2017, In Like Flynn 2018) and Camille Stopps (The Strain TV series) as the embattled patients. Veteran actor Angus Macfadyen (Saw franchise, Braveheart 1995, She Rises 2017 – read our review here) plays their barbaric captor. The film features hyper realistic practical effects from David Trainor (Black Summer TV series).
