I love Supernatural. I think it is one of the best shows out there, and it deserves the nearly decade and a half that is has been on. I hope it goes on forever. I will STILL be watching when Sam and Dean are 80 and creaking around, sounding like walking haunted houses and whacking ghosts with their iron canes. It was only a matter of time before there was a subscription box made for the show. Thanks to CultureFly, I got the chance to open one of them for you guys, and let me tell you, the Supernatural Box is one of my absolute favorites that I have ever done, not just in quality of the items received, but in how much bang for your buck that you get from the box.
Don’t take my word for it. Check out the unboxing video where I geek out for 14 minutes and do my terrible Dean Winchester impression. Then come back and find out how to get one for yourself.
That Mark of Cain was made out of liquid lipstick and it stayed on my arm almost as long as it stayed on Dean’s. There was a lot in the box, and everything seemed really solid and of good quality. So let’s break down what was in there.
First out of the Supernatural Box Winter 2019 was the wearables. I think a good fan box is judged by the quality and choice of its wearables because that is going to be the best way someone can represent their fandom. That being said, the Supernatural Box Winter 2019 did NOT disappoint. It was nice to see that it was different than just a t-shirt (although shirts are always nice in boxes). The hat is thick with no errant strings. Given the fact that the American Midwest has turned into one giant ice skating rink, a nice thick pom hat showing off the fandom is a great addition.
Alongside the hat was an EXTREMELY soft fleece blanket. The whole box fits a black, white and blue color scheme, and the blanket was no exception. It is a thin fleece, but very soft with no string issues either. The last item in the wearables is a small slice of pie charm. As we all know, Dean loves his diner pie, and this will be good for a bracelet or a necklace and will be recognized by the true Supernatural fans.
Next out of the box are the houseware items. I just loved these! Mugs are a common item in subscription boxes, and you can never really go wrong with a good mug. It was wrapped up tight in a box with Styrofoam, so it made its way to me damage-free. It has the show’s tagline: “Saving people, hunting things, the family business.” To go with your mug, there are also two small, plastic pie plates with the same show tagline as well as instructions, by Dean himself, to eat more pie. He doesn’t have to tell me twice. The Supernatural Box Winter 2019 included a thick silicon mold of Castiel’s wings and trademark tie combo. This mold would be great for chocolate, candy, cake toppers, soap making and more. Last in the housewares is a small cheeseboard in the shape of a piggy sporting the Pig ‘n a Poke menu item from the season 3 episode, “Mystery Spot.” The design is a straight copy from the menu, so it is a good throwback item for fans of the earlier seasons. “Hey, it’s Tuesday. Pig ‘n a Poke.”
One of the last two items out of the Supernatural Box Winter 2019 was a small vinyl figurine of Sam Winchester. He’s pretty cute, but I will always be Team Dean. The last item was an art print for show circa season 9. It features our boys, Sam and Dean, our favorite monotone angel, Castiel, and the most missed character in the show, my boy Crowley. There are also fireball angels falling from Heaven. The print is nice and thick and can easily be framed. It will look great on the wall.
That was it in the Supernatural Box Winter 2019! If you didn’t catch by now, the Supernatural Box is quarterly. The box itself is $49.99 but considering everything that comes in it and how much the blanket and hat alone would cost, the items inside are more than worth the cost of the box. It is pretty impressive. This particular box is nearly sold out, so when you go get your own – and I highly suggest you do – the items inside will most likely be different, unless you snag one of these babies before they sell out.
