Rob Zombie’s third installment of the his House of 1000 Corpses trilogy, 3 From Hell, is very close to the final cut. Zombie posted a photo on Instagram of the editing process that showcased a very much alive Otis Firefly. Zombie’s freshman effort, House of 1000 Corpses, filled a void that most horror fans had forgotten was there. Like its inspiration, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, it had a reputation that preceded it. Zombie was already an established rock star and that little film was the vessel for him to pour all of his horror inclinations into, spawning characters that would become absolutely iconic in the horror industry.
Zombie stated in his post:
“Well, boils and ghouls 3 FROM HELL is almost finished. I know it seems like we’ve been working on this forever, but it must be perfect.”
Even horror lovers who aren’t necessarily Rob Zombie fans are anxious to know how the Firefly clan survived the hail of gunfire at the conclusion of the last film. Details – other than casting announcements – have been sparse, so finding out that the film’s principal photography ended just before his recent tour with Marilyn Manson was pretty exciting. Zombie also premiered a very brief trailer during one of his shows. 3 From Hell is slated for an early fall 2019 release. October would be perfect.
