‘Poltergeist Encounters’ (2017) Trailer Review

What would you do for $50,000 dollars? In the film Poltergeist Encounters, a group of paranormal investigators receive an offer to stay one night in a potentially haunted house. However, these investigators get more than just a few bumps in the night. Check out the trailer below and see what you think.

Synopsis: Poltergeist Encounters is a found-footage horror film, set in an empty suburban home, filled with dark secrets.

Poltergeist Encounters is John Migliore’s third shot in the director’s chair. His prior directorial work includes The Friday Night Death Slot (2015) and Exorcism of the Dead (2017), although he produced the online shows Partially Devoured Movies and The Midnight Movie Palace, which can be seen on the Indie Horror Online Roku Channel and the Survival Zombie Films Vimeo Channel. The cast for Poltergeist Encounters includes Andre Guantanamo (The Friday Night Death Slot), Rachél Hopkins (Johnny Ghoulash Escapes from Creightonville) and Deborah Jayne Reilly Smith (Exorcism of the Dead). John Migliore also stars in the film as Anton.

To me, this film looks like the same sort of found footage film we have seen over and over. It has a similar plot of The House on Haunted Hill. If these four paranormal investigators survive the night, then they get money. The head investigator thinks that this is going to be easy money and that the group can handle it. In the trailer, they play with tarot cards. Seriously, was an Ouija board not available? Shit starts to hit the fan when the haunting starts ramping up. But will they all make it to the end and collect the money?

Poltergeist Encounters will be available on DVD on December 12th, although it can be pre-ordered from Amazon and Barnes & Noble. It will be interesting to see if this film will offer anything new in the found footage genre. What would you do for $50,000? It’s all fun and games until things get real.
