‘Pet Sematary’ Star Leo the Cat Has Passed Away

Just a few moments ago, sad news flashed across my computer screen. It is with a heavy heart that I announce that one of the “furrstars” from the new Pet Sematary, Leo the cat, has passed away.

A total of four Maine Coon cats came together to create the new Church and one of them was Leo who played the undead version. He was also the one who became the “face” of the film with awesome trailers and stills that showed him in all his spooky glory.

Kirk Jarret adopted him after the film and gave him his own Instagram account, which instantly became people and has over 15k followers. That’s not surprising though because who doesn’t love cat photos especially ones that are so photogenic?

Jarrett wrote on his Instagram tonight:

It is with deep sadness that we tell you that Leo has passed away. He will be forever missed by his human and fur family. May his star always shine bright.”

Leo was one of the main reasons that made me want to see the new Pet Sematary and will forever hold a spherical place in my heart. RIP LEO.
