In case you’ve been living on a desert island, Paramount Pictures is in the middle of remaking Stephen King’s Pet Sematary! To promote the film, Paramount’s PR folks have been releasing a steady stream of info over the past several months. Let’s recap what we know so far. We know the release date is April 19, 2019. We know that John Lithgow is playing Jud Crandall. Jason Clarke is playing Louis Creed. Amy Seimetz will portray Louis’s wife Rachel. We also know the film is being directed by Starry Eyes filmmakers Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch.
The latest news? EW has word they’ve cast the Creed children, Gage and Ellie. Who is answering the casting call? Read on for the details!
Ten-year-old Jeté Laurence has signed on to play Ellie, the Creed family’s sweet, sensitive daughter. Three-year-old twin boys Hugo Lavoie and Lucas Lavoie will play Gage, her toddler brother. Based on the pictures (provided by EW), it looks like the casting ins spot on!

“Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.”

Time will tell if remaking Pet Sematary is a good idea. In the meantime, the casting choices seem pretty solid. They haven’t really given anyone a whole lot of reason to complain up to this point.
