Out. For. A. Walk. Bitch.: Merch Massacre Unboxing

I bet you never thought there would be a good kind of massacre. I’m here to tell you that there is a company out there called Merch Massacre that brings the horror and sci-fi fandoms to you in the way that YOU want it. By that, I mean that you get to design how you wear and show off your fandom with the designs and colors of your choice. Check out what we mean in the video below, and then keep reading to see how it wears!

If you check out the Merch Massacre site, it can be a bit overwhelming. There are SO many decal designs and options that you can spend hours looking through all of the combinations. But don’t despair! I have created a selection down below to get you started. But first, I want to send a great big THANK YOU to Merch Massacre for giving us these items to try and show to you all. Let’s go!

These are some of the most comfortable sweatpants I own. With a soft inner lining, these are fantastic for cooler weather. I like my sweatpants baggier, so I grabbed these unisex pants in a 2X, and the fit was a little strange at first. As a plus-sized gal, pants are always a scary concept for me. The legs run long and the butt runs smaller than expected, which was a struggle at first, but like good sweatpants, these babies stretched a bit and now fit great. I was a little worried about the decal on big thighs, but after several wears, there is no tearing, which surprised me a lot. The design is one of their many Lovecraftian options. These pants run for $29.99.

The weird sizing on this was was my fault. This is a women’s cut V-neck t-shirt, and I always size WAY up for women’s cuts, because they run stupid small, but not this one. I got this in a 3X, and I am swimming in it. I would say these are pretty true to unisex sizing because I could have worn an XL and been perfectly comfortable. The sizing was definitely a surprise. I love the decal because it’s my boy, Michael, and we slaaaaaaay, in different ways, of course. There were a few spots of imperfections in the print – almost as if ink had dropped on it – and I found that in another item as well. It’s not too noticeable, but it’s there. The fabric of this standard cotton shirt softened up with a few washes and the decal stayed intact after washing in cold water only, but I would avoid drying these items in the dryer. Their women’s cut v-neck t-shirts go for $18.95.

The next two pictures are both favorites of mine. You may already know this from our CultureFly unboxing, but we love Supernatural. Here on the front of this unisex zip up hoodie is the anti-possession sigil we all know and love from the show. This hoodie is in XL and fits great – it’s even on the roomy side – but check out the best part…

GHOSTFACERS, BABY! The guys from Ghostfacers are one of my favorite parts of the series! Plus, I just love this design. Only fans of the show will know what the hell it means. The back decal sits a little low, but if you have long hair, you could definitely see that as a positive. The print on just this hoodie was oddly pink. I’m not sure if it was meant to be, and it’s not pink enough to be actually pink, but even if it was, I wouldn’t complain, because I love pink. I’m not sure what happened to the color along the way, but I still love this hoodie. It’s very soft inside and fits comfortably. Their zip up hoodies will cost you $39.99. This hoodie was almost beat out by the Don’t Panic design Merch Massacre has.

This adorable little goober is wearing one of their toddler t-shirts with a Zero print on it. The fabric is standard cotton, and the print is pretty thick, but this little one doesn’t mind. The size is a 5T, which runs a little short on the taller children, but it doesn’t seem to bother him one bit. I’m not sure what pose he is doing, but he is doing it with conviction, which I respect. I’d say the kids clothes choice is a win. These wee tees go for $14.99.

I have gotten SO many compliments on this bag. You may recognize this quote that Spike said to Buffy. Spike was, by far, my favorite character from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and this bag is a testament to that. It’s a small tote, perfect as a purse or for a trip to the pool (it is summer, after all). There are small ink spots on the print, but you cannot see them from far away. Merch Massacre’s totes will cost you $11.99.

Many people have a Christmas tree. I have a Halloween tree. Over the years, I have been collecting spooky-scary ornaments wherever I can find them, and Merch Massacre makes spooky ornaments! There are so many designs to choose from, and this one is a Goth classic. You can feel the decal on the glass ornament, but there doesn’t see to be any tears or imperfections. I can’t wait to put this on my tree… in August… or maybe July. Yeah, I decorate that early, fight me. You can decorate your own tree for $9.99.

Mugs are a classic item. My husband is constantly mad at me because I bring home mugs like I am bringing home rescued puppies. I confess, I do bring home way too many. I love mugs and almost all of them are spooky or game-related. Here we have the adorable little Sam, just ready for Halloween (I’m right there with you, little buddy). I will be honest and say that this mug has gone on my collection shelf, and I have not washed it, so I do not know how the decal will handle a wash. I will say that you should stay on the safe side and hand wash only. DO NOT SOAK. Don’t microwave the cup either, for good measure. Drink in style for just $9.99.

Happy Pride Month, everyone! Here, we have horror’s own symbol of pride (I never have figured out why, but I’m not complaining), the Babadook! Unfortunately, I couldn’t get him in a rainbow decal, but all black everything is the next best thing. The decal is pretty thick on the glass. I did notice some very tiny imperfections in the fingers of the design, but other than that, it is an awesome way to show your Babadook, dook, dook love. It’s safe to say this should be handwashed as well. Give this a shot for just $4.99.

Quoth the Raven, “This Diet Coke is too cold for my hands.” That’s how the poem goes, right? I am a fan of canned sodas and super cold ones to boot. Now my digits won’t get frigid, thanks to Merch Massacre and this amazing Edgar Allan Poe can koozie. The decal seems solidly on there, and it hasn’t experienced any rips or tears when a can gets placed inside. This is a win, and you can get one for just $4.99.

Finally on our Merch Massacre haul, we have the simplest of items in the bunch. This classic decal is featuring our favorite film riffers from MST3K. While I do love the show’s reboot, I am a fan of the original with both Joel and Mike. If you don’t want your designs on anything wearable or drinkable, you can show your fandom the old fashioned way with decals. Decals and stickers run between $4-7.

Merch Massacre also made up a beanie from The Exorcist 3 that has a red decal with, “It’s a wonderful life,” in dripping blood on the front. The hat isn’t too thick, so it is not bad for warmer weather to hide the hair the humidity is making crazy. And, even if you have a big head like me, I noticed that there hasn’t been any tearing or cracking of the decal. If you want to shop Merch Massacre yourself and check out the hundreds of options, you can do that HERE. Thanks for checking out Merch Massacre with us and keep your eye on PopHorror for some more amazing unboxings coming your way!
