One of my favorite horror-thrillers is 2009’s Orphan, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. It is crazy with one of the best chilling twists ever. It was recently announced that a prequel is coming that will tell the origins of Esther.
Synopsis for Orphan
A husband and wife who recently lost their baby adopt a 9 year-old girl named Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman) who is not nearly as innocent as she claims to be.
Reported by Deadline, Sierra/Affinity is launching sales at the EFM in Berlin on Esther, a prequel to Orphan that will be directed by William Brent Bell (The Devil Inside, The Boy, Brahms: The Boy II) and written by David Coggeshall.

Synopsis for Esther
Lena Klammer orchestrates a brilliant escape from a Russian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Lena’s new life as “Esther” comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost.
It is reported that the prequel is expected to start in the third quarter. I personally can’t wait for this. I LOVE Orphan and I would love to know more about her origins and how she came to be so evil. What are your thoughts? Let me know and stay tuned for updates!
