Synopsis for The Witches
Based on Roald Dahl’s 1983 classic book ‘The Witches’, the story tells the scary, funny and imaginative tale of a seven year old boy who has a run in with some real life witches!
I’m a huge fan of the original 1990s version and it still remains to be one of the scariest kid films that’s ever been made. That being said, after watching the trailer I do think this film has potential. It has a stellar cast – you can’t go wrong with Anne Hathaway, Octavia Spencer, and Stanley Tucci. Anne Hathaway is no Anjelica Huston, but I’m sure she’ll deliver her own awesome version of the Grand High Witch. Overall it looks fun and cute and I can’t wait to watch it. I suspect this version won’t be giving anyone nightmares though!
