GUNPOWDER & SKY’S HORROR BRAND ALTER TO SCARE CHICAGO’S CINEPOCALYPSE FILM FEST WITH THE WORLD PREMIERE OF SOCIAL MEDIA HORROR DEADCON

ALTER, a new horror brand from global studio Gunpowder & Sky – today announced that it will be a presenting sponsor of this year’s Chicago’s Cinepocalypse Film Festival.
During the festival ALTER will host the world premiere of its new film DEADCON on June 15th at the Music Box Theatre, and is thrilled to release a brand new trailer. The festival also marks the beginning of ALTER’s year-long partnership with the Music Box Theatre.
Directed by Caryn Waecther, DEADCON tackles isolation in the age of social media and follows real-life YouTubers Lauren Elizabeth and Claudia Sulewski as they face vengeful ghosts even more horrifying than their devoted fans. Following the world premiere in Chicago, DEADCON will continue a festival tour this summer and fall, with more dates to be announced. Also screening at Cinepocalypse is the crowd-pleasing comedic thriller and ALTER acquisition, VILLAINS. Starring Bill Skarsgård (Deadpool 2, It), Maika Monroe (It Follows, The Fifth Wave), Jeffrey Donovan (“Sicario”) and Kyra Sedgwick (“The Closer”), the film will make its Chicago premiere on June 14th in advance of a nationwide theatrical release this fall.
