A new trailer and Japanese release date have been announced for the kaiju reboot, The Great Buddha Arrival. The Great Buddha Arrival is directed by debut feature filmmaker Hiroto Yokokawa. The cast includes legendary actor Akira Takarada (six Godzilla films, including the original), Peggy Neal (X From Outer Space 1967), Yukijiro Hotaru (Gamera trilogy, Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack 2001), Ippei Ohsako and Inge Murata (both from Shin Godzilla 2016), Shelley Sweeney (four Godzilla films), Yuki Morita (Godzilla 2014), Norman England (two Godzilla films), Robert Scott Field (Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah 1991), Masanori Kikuzawa (A Crimson Star 2018), J-Pop superstar Momoka Iwata, Toshi Toda (Orizuru 2006), Yoshiro Uchida (Gamera the Invincible 1966) and rapper Yuma.
The Great Buddha Arrival will have a theatrical release in Japan on November 22, 2019.
