New Horror Movies for September 2018

September marks the end of summer, the beginning of fall, and the start of school. But readers of this site will know September is the unofficial kick off for horror movie season. Some people might think that begins in October, but they don’t read a site like PopHorror. When the leaves start to change color, the studios push out their tales of the macabre to our local multiplexes. This, dear readers, is a reason to rejoice. This September brings us a wide variety of horror offerings. With everything from a family-friendly Eli Roth yarn, a sequel to a cult classic, another entry to one of the most popular horror franchises, a reboot/sequel and Nicholas Cage in full tilt Cage mode, this will be one hell of a month for fans of the genre.

Sidenote: If you are in any way like our contributors, horror movie season is a year-round event.

Enough of my palavering. Let’s get to the releases.

September 4th

Hostile (VOD & DVD)

Official Synopsis:

Juliette, a lone survivor of an apocalyptic era, fights to survive against hunger, thirst, a broken leg and strange, disturbing creatures that only come out at nighttime.
