It is rumored that the film Safe Neighborhood is going to be released in 2017 sometime. There doesn’t appear to even be a trailer released yet. Why is this project so hush hush?! We always want what we can’t have, don’t we? The plot for this film sounds hella cool! Plus, the exclusive photos give us an inside glimpse of what could be the next best horror film. It is safe to say that I am excited! Are you?
Welcome to the newest home invasion film! Is any neighborhood really “safe?” Sure, we can take the proper precautions to ensure safety but can you really cover all the bases? Directed by Chris Peckover, Safe Neighborhood is set during Christmas time. On a quiet suburban street, a babysitter settles in for an evening with one of her regular customers. Little does she know the night will turn into a hellish nightmare when she is forced to fend off unwanted intruders. Will this be a horror-themed Home Alone? I would like to think so because that sounds epically awesome.
The cast doesn’t sound too shabby either. Safe Neighborhood stars Olivia DeJonge (The Visit), Levi Miller (Jasper Jones), Ed Oxenbould (The Visit), Virginia Madsen (CandyMan), and Patrick Warburton (The Rules of Engagement). It will be interesting to see Warburton in a horror film as he usually goes the comedic route. You’ve gotta love actors who are not afraid to switch things up! Also, Madsen was an epic scream queen in her day, so I think we can expect good things from her. Oxenbould and DeJonge did well together in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Visit. It is awesome to see them team up for another film, especially in the realm of horror. What do you guys think? Does Safe Neighborhood look like a “safe bet?”
