I’m a huge fan of A24 films from The Witch to Hereditary to The Hole in the Ground, they never disappoint. 2019 might be the year that they dominate the horror scene with Midsommar and their new announcement, In Fabric.
In Fabric is such an original and terrifying concept and I’m dying to check it out. When you first see “a killer dress” captioned across the poster, you may think this is going to be ridiculous. However, I assure you that after watching the trailer… you won’t be disappointed. See for yourself down below!
From acclaimed horror director Peter Strickland (the singular auteur behind the sumptuous sadomasochistic romance The Duke of Burgundy and auditory gaillo-homage Berberian Sound Studio) comes a truly nightmarish film, at turns frightening, seductive, and darkly humorous. The cast includes Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Hayley Squires, Leo Bill, and Gwendoline Christie.
Synopsis for In Fabric
A lonely woman (Marianne Jean-Baptiste), recently separated from her husband, visits a bewitching London department store in search of a dress that will transform her life. She’s fitted with a perfectly flattering, artery-red gown—which, in time, will come to unleash a malevolent curse and unstoppable evil, threatening everyone who comes into its path.
