Live Action ‘Tokyo Ghoul’ in the Works

According to Dread Central, Funimation has announced they’ve acquired the rights for a live action adaptation for Tokyo Ghoul. A theatrical release is coming soon. Will they do it justice?

Tokyo Ghoul is a popular anime and manga series. In 2015 it was the 4th best selling manga series in Japan. Due to its graphic depictions of violence and dark overtones, it is quite popular among horror fans.

Synopsis:

Masataka Kubota stars as Ken Kaneki, the college student transformed into a bloodthirsty ghoul after a life saving operation leaves him with ghoul organs implanted into his body. Masataka Kubota, Fumika Shimizu, Y? Aoi, and Nobuyuki Suzuki also star, whilst Kentarô Hagiwara directs.
