K-Drama Ready: Winter 2020 Kiyomi Box Unboxing

Hello, my Korean beauty-loving lads and lasses! I got on the K-beauty train a little while ago, starting with their amazing masks. I got into THOSE thanks to K-pop which evolved into a love for K-dramas which showed the value of K-beauty. It’s a long cycle, but it was entirely worth it. If you are interested in Korean beauty items but don’t quite know where to start, there is a box that will handle that for you, and it’s called the Kiyomi Box!

We want to send a big thank you to the folks over at the Kiyomi Box for sending us the Winter 2020 Essentials Box to try out. Even though spring is just a handful of days away, I live in a part of the country that will keep winter around on and off until about May. It will be near 80 one day and snow the next. This kind if weather wreaks absolute havoc on your skin, so this box came at a good time, since it will give you a sampling of 6-7 full size items for you to experience before you commit to something bigger. Let’s look at what the Winter 2020 Essentials Kiyomi Box had inside.

When you open the box, this is what you will see. The packaging is simple but cute, which definitely seems Korean.

The first item out of the Winter 2020 Essentials Kiyomi Box is the Yeon Brightening Cream, which has lemon and grapefruit extracts, rice bran and niacinamide. When this product says that it will immediately brighten, they aren’t kidding. This cream brightens instantly and leaves a white sheen. It seems to work better on fairer skin tones, and as a medium skinned girl, I can only use this on one area of my face, and that’s under my eyes. I was born with masking around my eyes, which means that the skin under there is very thin, and my lids are hyper-pigmented, so I have big, round, dark circles around my eyes that make me look like I was born part panda. Even concealer has a hard time covering it. However, a little layer of this brightening cream underneath my eyes will add a little extra light to boost my concealer. This product can be used on the face, underarms, elbows or anywhere you need some extra brightening.

I LOVE this next item out of the Winter 2020 Essentials Kiyomi Box. This is the Skin79 Clay Mask for Blemishes, which is designed for acne and seborrheic dermatitis, or skin that just needs some extra help. This mask cleanses, unclogs pores, fights blackheads and improves tone and shine. I felt this on my hand and my dry AF hand skin immediately felt softer and more nourished. The Winter 2020 Essentials Kiyomi Box also included this nifty little mask brush! I LOVE this soft silicon brush for applying this mask, so you don’t over use the product. All you need is 10 minutes, and your skin will feel better.

These are my favorite items in the Winter 2020 Essentials Kiyomi Box for the convenience and usefulness. First is this adorable little soft headband. I see girls in K-dramas have these amazingly adorable this headbands for doing their skin routines, and now I finally have one. Granted, my gigantic pumpkin head is large so it feels like someone is gently trying to squeeze me to death, but I really don’t care.

My next favorite item is the Absolute Green Tea cleansing wipes. I am a lazy bitch when it comes to cleaning my face many nights, and I appreciate a good face wipe to give my visage a cleanse while smelling amazing. These wipes smell SO good! It’s hard to only wipe my face when I want to stick them up my nose and smell them all day. I have very sensitive skin, and these didn’t irritate it at all. These are a complete win.

I am a slut for masks. I have a massive mask stash in my room, and I love them all. I go to my local Asian market and stock up on all the collagen and snail mucus masks that I can find. Here, we have a Soothing Green Tea mask. Green tea is used so often in K-beauty and Asian beauty, and I love masks that utilize tea of any kind. Green tea is an incredible antioxidant for your skin as well as the rest of your body.

Also included in the Winter 2020 Essentials Kiyomi Box is the VT Cica Care Spot Patch. I don’t get too many blemishes, because I have skin with the moisture level of a north African desert, therefore, I haven’t yet tried this, but I am excited to. This little sticker patch is used to heal acne and pimples so that you can bypass the popping and let it heal in a healthier way. You wear the patch until it turns white and that’s it! That little sheet pack comes with 12 stickers.

That’s all for the Winter 2020 Essentials Kiyomi Box. Because this is my first experience with a K-beauty box, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was actually pleasantly surprised. I love that each of the items are full sized and that one item is not just a skincare item, but a useful tool to use during your skincare routine. I could do without the brightening cream because of my skin tone, but I do understand its place in the box as well. My favorite items are the headband and the cleansing wipes. You can order the Spring 2020 Essentials Kiyomi Box HERE for only $39.99. This is a quarterly box, so that price is really nice given the items inside. When you purchase your first box, use code CROWLEY for 10% off! Even though these items were sent to me, I was not paid for this review, and all opinions are my own.
